had a few things on my mind, songs in my head. First:

Selda-Ince Ince.
This Turkish trippy rock track has been sitting obscurely in my shit for a while now. I wasn't surprised at all to hear Oh No and a couple of other smackerwhackers sampling it. The guitar line is solid like a rock and the howling vocals really match the sandrenched sound.

PacKFM might have an awful MC name, but he's sittin on some fire believe me. None of you should know who this dude is unless you spent some time in the City, talking with the chuckleheads throwin mixtapes and whatever at you. Pac is some SOLID shit. This song is amazing. For those who don't know.

Lauryn Hill- Ex Factor.
This song reminds me of last summer. Boxing lessons. Drivin all over Columbus following the Sweet Girl from Hell. Lauryn was as hip-hop as I could ever get Lauren to be. Too bad she went nuts (both of them).

Blue Scholars- The Distance.
I don't how much of a tip these cats deserve. I really can't tell if i like em or am apathetic, but this track is haunting. the spooky, halloweeny beat almost makes Geologic sounds like a half-decent rapper. Almost.

Common Sense- Charms Alarm.
Common Sense my favorite rapper. He could go at Wayne with a pitchfork. His rhythm was unmatched. He's got a naturally funny, fucking-so-close-to-spectacular flow that has been rarely matched. Fuck this old pungi named Common sittin on Kanye's peepee. Common Sense!

2000 readers. sheeeeeeit. I never expected for this little summer hobby to get noticed, let alone by all of you pretty little people. so since a whole 'nother Cleveland of you showed some love, I'll toss you a HIGHLY recommended mix.

J.Rocc- Gorilla Armz Supreme mix - This has gotta be my favorite mixtape by one of the greatest. it's not a rap tape, but instead it's a mixed up collection of funk, soul, and familiar sounding samples without a bunch of chowdaheads yelling all over it. GET TO IT.

You gotta be hip to hop.

yea so Finding Forever's "gooooood"ness has kind of worn off. Kanye is ALL OVER it. I'm not a huge ye fan, and he just completely rips Dilla's sound on this one a little too much. I've noticed that this cd just made me pop Be back into the deck, and Be made me pop in Like Water For Chocolate back in, and AS WE SPEAK I'm listening to Can I Borrow a Dollar. And Pete Rock. and now a lil sooooul. The Beautiful Lily Kane turned me onto this track off of the UK version of Finding Forever. Why this didn't make the US cut escapes me. After thought: I never noticed that No Defense sampled that Honeydrippers track that I upped a bit ago.

Sach over at Oh Word agrees:

• I tried to like it, but Common’s new album is a textbook example of “diminishing returns”. Put down the Starbucks and start copping 40’s before you get drafted into the Dave Matthews band, homie. On the plus side, American Gangster could be this year’s “Inside Man”.

I could be a revolutionary, but I like white women with big titties

sorry. it's been a few days since ive been able to do anything. gotta make that paper, you understand. It might be a few more days until my next one too. Been a depressing, muggy weekend and a few. still waiting on my delivery of music and shit. I wish I had something worthwhile to write about, but all I got is Shark Week. need to get out of C bus and back down to the dirty STAT.

look for my guest spot over at Scholar's spot in a few.

Isley Brothers- Lay Away. A great IB song sampled on Wayne's Reciept offa Carter II

Bill Withers- Aint No Sunshine (Live at Carnegie hall)
Bill's sexy. Y'all should know that. I love the orchestral original as much as the next person, but this version is just a bit funkier.

Fred Wesley and the J.B.'s- Blow Your Head

Skyzoo ft. Torae- Click. The production on this track is FLAWLESS. bang it and think about your boi.

A Tribe Called Quest- Game Day.
Yes Game Day like NFL Game Day (the videogame). Jay Dee injects the funk into this surprisingly AMAZing track. just cuz it's licensed don't mean it's not fire.

Kanye West- Young Folks
. If you copped that Alter Ego mixtape a couple of posts back, you already got this.
